Gregory Williams was raised in Camilla, Georgia, attended school in Mitchell County and graduated from Mitchell-Baker High School. He attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Albany State University. He continued his graduate work in Public Administration at Albany State University and Post Graduate work in Political Science from The Union Institute and University in Cincinnati, OH. He also holds his Juris Doctorate from The Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.

 Mr. Williams’ work experience is very diverse. He has worked in all areas of city and state government for the City of Albany, GA, starting from the Department of Community and Economic Development, the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, the City of Albany Police Department as a Research and Planning Manager (writing police policy and achieving accreditation for the department) and as Assistant to the City Manager in the City Manager’s Office.

He was the recipient of the Patricia Roberts Harris Fellowship in Public Administration and a member of the 1992 Leadership Albany Class and also Past President of the Mitchell County Bar Association. He is a member of J.R.E. Lee Lodge #422 Prince Hall Free an Accepted Masons,, former Vice Chair of the Camilla Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, and a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. 

He has taught as a Professor of Political Science and Business Law at Albany State University and he holds a valid teaching certification in 6 different fields on the high school level.  He serves as the public defender of the Baker County Traffic Court, the City Attorney for the City of Newton, GA.   He is admitted to practice law in the Superior Courts, the Court off Appeals and the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia.
